Lazy Acres Takes Classes Online

In response to the COVID-19 Quarantine, Lazy Acres got creative about how to offer their popular Pier Room Cooking Classes and Wellness Workshops. This Spring, they introduced their first-ever Follow Along Cooking Classes, and are now also offering free Wellness Workshops and weekly tips from their team of experts. The classes are FREE and stream every week on Facebook live, usually at 3:30 p.m. They are also being included on the Lazy Acres YouTube Channel.
The classes are led by local chefs, and the program is set up to feature a single recipe, where people can choose to purchase the ingredients in advance and follow along with the chef as they make the recipe in real time. Or, they can watch the demonstration and choose to make the recipe later on their own time. The recipes represent a tremendous variety of foods, from the adventurous to the very kid-friendly. Cookies, Mexican Food, Thai Food, Morrocan food, vegan creations, easy dinners and kids’ cooking are just a few of the recent categories. There is a focus on healthy recipes that can be made easily. The wellness workshops feature tips for better health, immunity, stress reduction and mindfulness, and can be applied to daily life during these stressful times. These Workshops are collaborations between Lazy Acres and local community partners. Feedback from participants has been very positive, and Lazy Acres plans to continue adding classes each week!
