A cornerstone of the Torrance community since 1929, Torrance Refinery continues manufacturing high-quality products that fuel our regional economy. Our dedicated employees produce California’s clean gasoline for motorists; ultra-low sulfur marine diesel fuel for the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach; and jet fuel for Los Angeles International Airport, in addition to other products that help make modern life possible.

Torrance Refinery is critical to California’s economy and energy future. The refinery supplies 20% of gasoline demand in Southern California, while providing high-paying, rewarding careers for approximately 600 employees and 300 contractors, many of them unionized.

Our employees live throughout the South Bay and take pride in the important work they do. The products they make help consumers get to work, school, and travel, and are essential to deliveries and products Californians use every day, while ensuring energy independence. Our commitment extends into our host community, where many of our employees volunteer in local schools and nonprofits, donating their time, expertise, and funds.

Most importantly, our dedicated and highly-skilled employees and contractors ensure safe, reliable and environmentally responsible operations 24/7/365.
